This magical indoor display of 150 lavishly dressed Christmas trees illuminated by thousands of lights and shimmering with decorations has, in the past three years, transported more than 40,000 visitors into the world of Christmas make believe.
This year the event promises to be lovelier than ever with an estimated 30,000 visitors expected to visit the 2009 display. It is open 12 noon to 10.30pm, November 25-29 and again December 2-6 at the Rawene Centre, 33 Rawene St, Birkenhead.
In addition to the dazzling display of trees, there will be a Christmas shop, refreshments and the sound of carols. Importantly, every year Christmas Wonderland ensures decorations are new and different making viewing a unique and memorable experience.
And one of the most popular sections is that devoted to Christmas in New Zealand. Locally sourced decorations pave the way for Kiwiana and New Zealand’s own unique style of celebration.
