Franchise owners Mavis Griffiths and daughter Sarah Dodson say they are overwhelmed at their success, which comes hard on the heels of several international honours awarded to Prenzel products this year.

“We are absolutely delighted at this personal recognition and hope it will raise local awareness of the Prenzel range,” Sarah says.

“I first encountered Prenzel’s in Kapiti four years ago and was determined to own a franchise.

“Mum was soon caught up in my vision and a year later we opened the Whitford shop. Now three years down the track we love the business even more and are thrilled that our determination to offer our customers something out of the ordinary and, of course, New Zealand-made has been acknowledged.”

At Prenzel of Whitford, Sarah and Mavis are known not only for their outstanding retail displays, tastings and exceptional service, but also for their superb corporate gifts, community involvement and constant efforts to introduce new products in a novel way.

Organised by The New Zealand Retailers’ Association, this year’s TOP SHOP awards were announced on Tuesday night at a gala dinner at SKYCITY Auckland.
