This special 911, which is built by Porsche Exclusive, has been developed over the past three years with special attention being paid to the smallest details in order to cater for the most demanding group of genuine enthusiasts.
Porsche Exclusive is Porsche’s specialist department, which produces the most outstanding customised versions of Porsche cars, going beyond even the highest standard of the company’s regular production models.
The unique character of the 911 Sport Classic is instantly recognisable in the newly developed double-dome roof. A further highlight of this sports car, based on the rear-wheel-drive Carrera 2S, is the 44 mm wider rear body and the wider track on the rear axle.
Power comes from Porsche’s 3.8-litre six cylinder Boxer engine with Direct Fuel Injection. The power has been increased by 17kW (23hp) to 304kW (408hp) through the introduction of a newly developed resonance intake manifold.
The 911 Sport Classic is available with only a six-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle comes standard with PCCB Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, PASM sports suspension (which lowers the vehicle by 20 mm), a limited slip rear axle and custom-made 19-inch wheels with their rim star painted black.
Just 250 Sport Classics will be available worldwide; when the 911 goes on sale in New Zealand in the first quarter of 2010 it will carry an estimated retail price of $430,000.
