Food for funny bone

A SECLUDED terrace at the back of a veterans’ home in post-World War II France is the scene for a theatre company’s latest comedy.
Heroes follows the comings and goings of Henri, Philippe and Gustave, three bickering Frenchmen who plan to leave the confines of their residence for greener pastures, whether that be Indochina or a group of poplar trees at the top of a hill.
The Howick Little Theatre play is a little like the classic British TV series Last of the Summer Wine, but with a French twist and more to think about.
The elderly men’s volatile relationships and fondness for a bronze canine companion are food for the funny bone, and their banter will bring smiles to the faces of theatre-goers across the age spectrum.
