Proceeds of the quilting competition will go towards a four-wheel motorised vehicle to support Dee Gordon.

On August 25 and 26 the Fencible Quilters of Howick will be hosting a Triennial Show at the Howick Bowling Club, Sale St, Howick.

Every three years, a group of local women bring together a collection of their creative quilting efforts, to showcase their talent and expertise in bed and lap quilts as well as a variety of art quilts. They also host two club challenges.

Guest judge for the Triennial Show is Jo Dixey. She will display and demonstrate her own special talents.  There will be a live quilting competition in the form of a “jelly roll challenge”.

The raffle quilt has been made by the members and proceeds will go towards a four-wheel motorised vehicle to support Dee Gordon, who suffers from Motor Neurone disease. It will help her achieve independence.

The machine transforms Dee’s world as she can no longer walk.

Also available is an enormous trading table of hand-crafted items, made by members and will include hand-knitted clothing, soft toys, homewares etc.  Eftpos is available and entry is $3 for adults with children free.

  • Opening hours are from 9am-4pm, Saturday and 9am-3pm, Sunday.
