Everyone’s invited to the Diwali celebrations being held at Uxbridge Arts and Culture in Howick on Saturday 3 November.

“A Day in India” is a free event being held to encourage families to explore experience and participate in activities supporting the delights and differences in Indian cultures. Activities will include Rangoli participation, Bollywood dancing workshops, Ayurveda talks & discussions, Indian Food/Spice sampling which are limited to 50 people and a Themed Photo booth.

There will be some traditional Indian music from Basant Madhur who is a widely acknowledged Tabla player and a much-respected artist in the arena of Indian classical music. Joining them on stage is leading classical dancer in New Zealand Abhishek Ravi.

Finishing the day off we have Sargam Fusion band offering an East meets West music mix which connects people from different cultures and truly lives the spirit of diversity and multiculturalism.

It is a whole day of activities and performances so stay local, save travel and immerse yourselves in as much or as little as you like on the day.
